Federal-Mogul’s Fel-Pro valve stem seals control the lubrication of the valve stem as it slides in the valve guide. Federal-Mogul gasket sets always include the correct valve stem seals to do the job. Premium valve stem seals are used in the set whenever engine designs demand their use. Fel-Pro valve stem seals include both deflector (umbrella-type) seal designs that move with the valve stem to shield the valve guide from excess oil, and positive seal designs that wipe and meter oil on the stem as it passes through the seal. Positive seals attach to the valve guide boss. They work like a squeegee, wiping and metering oil on the stem as it passes through the seal.
