The ACT clutch kit includes an Xtreme pressure plate, 4-pad, spring-centered race disc, release bearing, pilot bearing and alignment tool. The Xtreme pressure plate allows for a 50 to 120 Percent increase in clamp load over the stock unit. ACT pressure plates use exclusive diaphragm design to increase clamp load, reduce deflection and maximize clutch life. All diaphragms endure an exclusive four-stage, heat-treating process for unparalleled performance. ACT pressure plates have precision cover stampings to provide rigidity and consistency, and some are reinforced to reduce flex and improve efficiency and the feel of the pressure plate. ACT’s Xtreme pressure plates have a moderate to stiff pedal feel and are recommended for use with a street or race disc. Xtreme pressure plates meet SFI Specification 1.1 and are legal in all racing organizations that require SFI certification. ACT’s 4-pad, spring-centered race disc features a spring-center construction to properly dampen torsional vibrations for quieter operation and resist failure even under harsh conditions. ACT spring retainers utilize wraparound spring windows and thicker retainer stampings to provide spring support, reduce stress concentrations, and increase strength and reliability. The heavy duty torsional dampening springs are stronger in most cases than standard springs and are provided in the best sizes and spring rates to suit the application. With the 4-pad, spring-centered race disc engagement is harsher, but shifting is faster. ACT’s 4-pad, spring-centered race disc is well-suited for smaller disc sizes in smaller engines. All ACT race discs meet SFI Specification 1.1 and are legal in all racing organizations that require SFI certification.
